In the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU) on the occasion of March 31 - the day of genocide of Azerbaijanis took place the event called “March 31 - genocide, which is not erased from our historical memory”.
The national anthem was played, and the martyrs who lost their lives for the integrity of our lands were commemorated.
In his opening speech, the rector of the university, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Ibrahim Jafarov spoke about the policy of massacres and deportations against Azerbaijanis, massacres committed by Armenians in March-April 1918. The rector said that it was only as a result of the legal and political evaluation of the genocide by the great leader Heydar Aliyev, as well as the policy implemented by our state, that the world began to properly assess the events. Of course, the successful policy of President Ilham Aliyev, the successor of Heydar Aliyev in these processes, should be specially noted. At all international events, President Ilham Aliyev resolutely conveys these truths to the world community.
Professor Azad Bayramov, Head of the Department of Social Sciences and Multiculturalism, said during the March events Armenians slaughtered thousands of people, not to mention children, old people and women, and burned them alive. National architectural gems, schools, hospitals, mosques and other monuments were destroyed. Most of Baku was turned into ruins. Mass murders took place not only in Baku, but also in Shamakhi, Guba, Karabakh, Zangezur, Nakhchivan, Lankaran, Ganja and other regions.
Then deputy associate professor of the Department of Social Sciences and Multiculturalism Samira Gasimova, Sabina Alizade, teacher Deniz Huseynli, Yadigar Ibrahimov and Turkan Velizadeh spoke about March 31 - the day of genocide of Azerbaijanis and the work of our state to bring the truth about genocide to the world.
