A master class on the topic “The Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan is the Supreme Law of the State” was organized at the Faculty of Agronomy of the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University (ADAU) with the participation of a group of teachers and students in connection with the implementation of the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev on declaring 2025 the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty”.
Ibrahim Guliyev, a participant of the First Karabakh War, a member of the Board of the Council of Elders of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Honored Teacher, Doctor of Law, and Professor, delivered an extensive report on the topic. He emphasized that the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated December 28, 2024, declaring 2025 as the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty” in our country, is an event of great significance for the development of modern Azerbaijani statehood.
He underlined that the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, prepared under the direct leadership of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and adopted on November 12, 1995, serves as a fundamental legislative basis for ensuring our state’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, building a legal and secular state, securing a decent standard of living for our citizens, and promoting cooperation with countries of the world in an atmosphere of friendship and peace.
It was noted that declaring 2025 as the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty” is a remarkable event highlighting the 30th anniversary of the adoption of our Constitution and the 5th anniversary of our victory in the Patriotic War, reflecting our country’s historic achievements, the strength of our Constitution, and the restoration of our full sovereignty. This decision not only demonstrates the power and progress of independent Azerbaijan but also embodies the unity and solidarity of our people.
The head of the Social Sciences department, Elgun Aslanov, and his teacher, Abdurrahman Kazimov, pointed out that such events will play an important role in increasing the knowledge of young students about the centuries-old history, culture, historical events, the protection of state independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the historical path taken in building a legal, secular state.
